They were not simply subjects appearing before a camera. They created the names, performances, relationships, economies, and mythology that gave the world its form.

RONNIE-RON

CREATOR + EMCEE

Ronnie-Ron created Shakedown Productions and presided over its nights as emcee. He announced the performers, directed the movement of the room, and helped transform a succession of performances into a world with its own identity, structure, and legend.

MAHOGANY

THE MOTHER

Mahogany is the legendary mother of the Shakedown scene. Her presence connects performance, authority, care, memory, and the transmission of knowledge from one generation to another.

EGYPT

THE STAR

Egypt is Shakedown’s star performer and the voice that guides us through the film. Through Egypt, performance becomes transformation: a way of commanding the room, constructing an image, making money, and becoming more fully oneself.

JAZMYNE

THE QUEEN

Jazmyne is the Queen of Shakedown. Her performances carry glamour, theatricality, humor, precision, and power. Her story also becomes a bridge between the documentary and the project’s next chapter, SHAKEDOWN: THE TRIAL.

THE SHAKEDOWN ANGELS

The Shakedown Angels are the company of dancers and performers who made the club possible. Individually and collectively, they created a visual language of movement, costume, fantasy, work, pleasure, competition, and self-invention.

SHAKEDOWN exists because they made it exist.
