SHAKEDOWN
A LIVING FILM ARCHIVE

SHAKEDOWN began inside a Black lesbian strip-club community in Los Angeles. Leilah Weinraub filmed that world and the women who built it for more than fifteen years. The project has moved through clubs, cinemas, festivals, museums, streaming platforms, and classrooms. Now it continues through SHAKEDOWN: THE TRIAL, a new narrative feature returning to the people, economies, performances, and unresolved questions at its center.
